A Pinch of Niopo

Info on the design

This textile was based on my original watercolor painting of Niopo (Anadenanthera colubrina). This plant was consumed by the ancient people of the Atacama. The title comes from the notes of Richard Spruce, an English botanist who spoke of the use of Anadenanthera in the 1800’s.
