Lost Village

Info on the design

This textile was specially designed for an exhibition at  Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, in Miami. Artists were asked to reference Vizcaya in their work so I decided to make a textile that would represent celebration and relaxation. From my original watercolors, the design includes: Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi) flowers, leaves,  and seeds, Morning glory (Ipomoea  violacea), Ergot (Claviceps purpúrea), Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) flowers and leaves, Belladonna(Atropa belladonna) flowers and seeds, Vilca (Anadenanthera colubrina) leaves, seeds and flowers, mushrooms (Psilocybe cubensis), Datura (Datura inoxia), Brugmansia (Brugmansia sanguínea), white Morning Glory (Rivea corymbosa), Chacruna (Psychotria viridis), Coffee (Coffea arabica), Tea (Camellia sinensis), and Chocolate (Theobroma cacao).
